Lithological-petrographic map of Switzerland – Classification of rocks 1:500000

The 1:500,000 geotechnical map (GK500) of the Georesources Switzerland Group shows the subsurface strata classified according to lithological-petrographic criteria. The legend is designed to represent the technical use of the subsurface (extraction of mineral raw materials, building projects). A rough classification allows three principle rock types to be distinguished: unconsolidated rocks, sedimentary rocks and crystalline rocks.
